Someone is coming to look at our house tomorrow, so if you're reading this, please please keep your fingers crossed! So while cleaning, my dad found a box of my keepsake stuff in his closet, such as my baby book, teeth, school stuff, etc.
In one of the little keepsake books that your teachers help you make in school, I wrote, "When I grow up I want to be....a fairy princess" and even better: "When I grow up...I am going to be wearing a batman costume" hahha what!? A batman costume?! Hahha, as you can see, I was always a dreamer.
Rant? A little bit? My motto should be, "Don't take it personally, I'm just bitter about everything." But seriously, my generation is sooo....I don't even know. It's like teen pregnancy is NORMAL. I mean, if I got pregnant right now, as a 'teen' I would be so happy and of course pretend it's normal. But, it's something that's like, "oops, I messed up, now I have to deal with it, and love it" but it seems more like, I don't know, just SO normal to be a teen mom. How are these kids going to grow up, you know? And it's never a teen dad, just mom.
Also, that woman, i can't recall her name, who wrote that book about cheating in a marriage and how it can keep a marriage together..wait WHAT? That's not a marriage! She says, "Men are HARDWIRED to cheat." So what's that's telling me is that you're setting a standard for men...that it's okay if they cheat because it's in their DNA. Seriously? If you have that kind of relationship with your man, fine, but don't make it the standard for everyone else. Oh where has the humanity gone?
That's enough angst for now,
xo,
B

Vacation [unfinished]
Day one:
Left the house at 5pm and arrived in Wichata Falls, TX around 2:30am, and probably had McDonalds for dinner. We searched for a La Quinta because they're all pet-friendly and they've always served us well as far as being clean and everything. Well, first of all, we have a few requirements: downstairs room, two beds, and must be accept pets. Well we got lucky that the first place we rolled into at such a late hour had a room that met our requirements. Well we got into our room and sat down for a moment and the fire alarm was beeping like it needed a new battery and my mom said that there was no way that she could sleep through the beeping. So she called the front desk and the lady said that she had one other downstairs double but to come look at it first because she didn't usually rent out these particular rooms and this was one of them. We went to look at the room at the carpet was diiiiisgusting, but it was quiet, and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept.
Day two: (Albuquerque, NM)
The next morning, my mom went to check us out and she told the lady that was at the desk then that the room was awful - the carpet was just disgusting, and that we should get a discount, so the lady at the desk replied, "Oh you don't have to tell me how bad those rooms are, we've been trying to get them remodeled for a while now..I'll tell you what I'll refund your full amount!" So, we got one free night. We left there towards Albuquerque, New Mexico. But first, we ate some McD's and hung out with some cute ducks:
And we drove on our way,
When we got to Armarillo, TX, my dad said that we will arrive in ABQ late, probably around 11pm, and will probably have a hard time getting a room. It was only 5 o'clock so my mom and I said just to drive on. Well we drove til we rolled into New Mexico, stopped at the visitor's center at the state line and took pictures and got a bunch of flyers for things to do. When we got into ABQ I believe we were in the downtown area and all the hotels were packedd..we checked all the La Quinta's - no availability..we checked numerous other places and nothing was available. We pulled into a "Motel 1" on a hard looking end of town...my mom and I went in to ask about a room. Well, first of all we should have left when they didn't even use computers to log their guests, just pen and paper. He took us around, walking past multiple shopping carts to get to this room. When he opened the door, the room was TINY, dark, and it smelled awful. So the guy said, "okay not problem, we have a BRAND NEW wing over here, it's beautiful and there's plenty of space, I'll call my manager and let him know that you're coming." I honestly don't know what we were expecting at this point, but we were already hooked in so we thought it was at least worth a try. We drove around, and well, there was plenty of space, and it probably was beautiful and brand new...about 10 years ago. It was GROSS, the bed was broken, and it was just as bad as the first room. So we said no, and the 'manager' was telling us that our problem was our dogs...I wanted to be like, "SCREW YOU, DUDE!" Don't say that you're pet-friendly and then tell us that our dogs are a problem, you're disgusting, drug-addict ridden sham of a hotel is our problem, dude. Needless to say, we left and after driving and looking, not eating, for about 2 hours or so and finally rolled into a Econolodge. It wasn't luxury, but it WAS a bed, and it WAS clean, and there wasn't rude staff to deal with. It was about 2am or so, and we had McDonalds once again. After we had settled into our room, I called the La Quinta and reserved a first-floor double for the next night. So we slept at the Econolodge.
Day three: (Albuquerque, NM)
We woke up, checked-out of the Econolodge, and I called La Quinta to see if our room was ready, and we had to wait til check-in time (3pm). So we got Schlotzkey's, went to a medical center where there was grass and plenty of shade, and ate and let the dog's out. I'll take this opportunity to talk about the weather here: it's AWESOME. There is NO humidity like Houston. You can sit in the shade, and be nice and cool, feel a nice constant breeze, and ACTUALLY BE COOL. You can do that in Houston and with the moisture in the air, it's really hard to cool off. That being said, the sun does seem to be hotter, but there kind of is a heat wave right now, so I'm handing it to that. Anyways, I LOVE New Mexico.
So we waited in front of our room til we saw that they were finished cleaning it at went back to the front desk and got our keys. We got in, brought all of our stuff in, relaxed, and...the A/C wasn't working right. So we called the front desk and let them know about it, and the kid that was working up there said that'd he be there soon. When he finally showed up, he flipped it off and said that usually they just need to be reset and he could in fact tell that the room was warm, well he tried to flip it back on...nothing. Off...on...off....on...nothing. He said that we was going to go get his maintnence guy. When the kid came back, Paul, he said that their manager was all over them about overtime and his maintnence guy was getting off so he'd have to move us to another room. Downstairs, single king with a roll-out bed. So we said fine, we'll take it. We got in, brought all of our stuff in, settled down, and were about to get ready to go out to eat at the Denny's that was right outside of our room. My dad took a shower, no problem. I got in to take a shower..and the hot water handle is broken. So I get my dad to look at it to see what the problem is, and he takes off the handle and it needs to be fixed with an allen wrench, which we don't have, of course. So my mom is really upset now because we've already switched rooms once and now probably again. Paul says, "oh no" and tells up that they have no more rooms available (because it's already around 7pm) and that he'll call the other La Quinta's and try to find us a room. He finally calls back, with kind of good news, he says that he's got us a room across the street at the Hampton Inn, and to meet him up front and they'll figure out how they'll pay Hampton Inn for our stay. We load back up, and head up to the front. Well we had reserved that room for two nights because we had plans for the next day and needed the room for our dogs. My mom told him that they should pay for us for two nights, and he says okay with no argument. (PS- he was a legitimately sincere guy and knew that we were having hell). So we got over to Hampton Inn, which was a way nicer room anyway, and stayed there for 2 nights, courtesy of La Quinta.
Day 4: (Albuquerque, NM)
We decided to just get in the car and go sight-seeing. We saw two of the shooting sites from Breaking Bad...I was totally psyched.
We saw the Octopus Car Wash and Walt's house!
And drove and drove, and rode.
Oh and we saw some roadrunners!
And these cool adobe houses blow my mind:
What a view, right! I'd love to live in one of those.

Teen Pregnancy
Oh my God teen pregnancy rates must be through the roof right now. Bringing a life into the world is the most beautiful thing that one can experience, and I'm so excited for when my time comes. But listen kids, it's not a trend! IT'S A FREAKING HUMAN LIFE. Your life is going to change FOREVER. Things will NEVER be the same. It's not something you can just put away when you're tired of it. It's a FULL time job. Ugh. All these girls that I went to school with are pregnant...it's obviously unplanned, and likely out of wedlock. Think about that child's life for a second, and use some protection.

Short update after a silly rant
I haven't updated in a while, so I thought I'd write a quick one.
School is crazy right now. I just started my online speech class on Monday (after Spring Break), but while it seems to be pretty easy, it's actually a bit of work. I have an assignment and a test for it due Tuesday @ 1, so really they're due Monday because I'll be in class until close to 1. Also, on Tuesday I have a biology test that I'm so lost on the criteria. Biology is so difficult for me to comprehend! I need to catch up on reading in every class /: this is going to be a long weekend, but it's probably going to be over before I'm good and ready for it to be.
Not much progress on the move, update later.

a little rant about parenting (or lack there of)
Alright so here's my beef: I get where it is explicit and everything, and it wouldn't be appropriate for children.. BUT good parenting 101: make sure your child understands that everything that they read or see in the media (internet, etc.) isn't real life, it isn't something you should necessarily follow, and it's FAKE. I'm nineteen years old, and my whole life I have had the understanding that I can't just do whatever I see because I see it, I have to interpret within it's own context, and realize that it isn't real life; it doesn't pertain to me as an idividual. I find it frustrating that parents are blaming behaviors on media but (for the most part) I blame the parents. You have to monitor a child's activities and NOT AVOID, but help understand what they see in the media isn't necessarily relevant to life; it's a show! It's entertainment! Once your child has that understand, they'll be able to watch anything and understand it within it's OWN context. Just because I watch the Telephone video doesn't mean I'm going to start prancing around in my fishnets and leather-studded bra, and roll my hair in coke cans! Just like when I saw Britney Spears dance at her school in a midriff revealing sweater didn't mean I was going to do it. (I realize the difference of degrees here) My point is, a childs behavior is an example of their parenting.
But you know, what's entertainment without a little controversy?

rah-rah-ah-ah-ah
So we skipped another day for painting my room, but now it's finished. It's terribly plain... meh. I got blue bedding to match for when we decide to show the house, they look good! It's nice to have a comforter for a change as opposed to a quilt. I also bought some microfiber sheets. They're really soft but for some reason they're kind of big! like they bunch up in the middle of the bed, it's quite strange.
I've started watching Glee, I mean right now it's actually between seasons (season 2 starts 4/13) but I downloaded the first and watched all but I think the last 2. I like it, it's pretty good. Lots of teen drama, it's really cute though. Lots of LOLz, and some tears. Excited for April 13th...
So since I've been staying up late to catch up, and get some TV in, I obviously aren't going to sleep that early. Well Izzy has decided that she can't jump on the bed anymore...she's getting too fat and her legs aren't going to be able to support her if she gets any fatter ): She wakes me up 4-5 times a night to let her on the bed. It's frustrating but I like when she sleeps with me so I deal with it.
My biology teacher is still fail. Sociology and Philosophy are alright though. I'll make it though.... I'm done writing here, haha.
Peace.

Oh yeah, and..
The highlight of today will be when I take a shower. I'm gross, tired, and now I'm flustered. It's going to be an even longer day when my dad gets back...
trying to move sucks...
So we've been doing a little at a time to get ready to get our house on the market so we can get out of here. This weekends project was painting my room from black to white. So obviously painting white on black is bad enough in itself because it's not a one-coat project. We went ahead and got kilz so that it would only take 2 coats, 3 at most. So we painted that on yesterday - with my dad doing anything it takes three times as long as it should. He's like me doing homework - finding a million things to distract him from doing what he needs to do (which is what I'm doing right now...I should be doing my philosophy assignment). So anyway, we did one coat of kilz last night, and today we were going to do the white. Well, my dad got 'antique' white and it's so not even the right color...either my baseboards aren't antique white or that's a really wrong perception of antique white. Needless to say we should been done by now and its already 5PM.
Anyway, it'll be done soon enough.
Next weekend: shampooing my old bedroom? I wish the weather would warm up and stop raining only because there needs to be repairs done outside and it's been too nasty, or we've been too busy to do them. Ugh, I really wanna get this show on the road and be moving this summer so I can move and decorating my new room while I'm not having to worry about school. Beggars can't be choosers, ha.

Oh and,
I recently had a dream about Misfits..I was with them, or something. It's too fuzzy to remember anything at all though. I need a dream journal..lol. Yeah right though, if only I would wake up and write it down as soon as I wake up. That'll never happen..
Who needs love when there's southern comfort?
And this is why I put my flash drive on my dry-erase board... I am sooo prone to losing that thing.
So I had that sociology test on critical thinking this morning, and I think I did pretty well. I'm sure I did just awful on that philosophy exam though...it was hard to read and I was exhausted. So, of course, that's 1 of the 5 assignments he's actually picked up. Awesome.
I need to REALLY study for biology all day today. Hmm..

+ homework sums up today.
My philosophy teacher decided that he would put up an assignment yesterday at 2, which I would have seen last night if angel had let me sign in. I'm really glad I got to chapter 5 on my biology learning objectives yesterday and some of my soiology stuff, and not put it off. I'm going to study for the sociology test and do the philosophy assignment today/tonight, and then I'll finish biology Monday after school since my biology test is Wednesday.
If I make it past Tuesday and pass both tests, it'll be a small wonder. (:
I finished watching Season 1 of Misfits.. really good show. I got to episode 6 and right when it go REALLY good I realized it was a 6x60 series that hasn't aired season 2 yet. So I'm stoked for that. Other series/seasons starting again around May include:
I need to stop writing so that I can study. Bye.

I don't feel much like writing but...
When you have a dream, if you don't talk about it immediately, do you forget it? That happens to me - I think it's so wierd.
So I don't remember the whole thing, but I had this dream that I got kidnapped. And I was in the back of this car, and I was really scared, obviously. So we went through a drive-thru and the guy inside could see my face, so I mouthed "help" and he looked like O.O and picked up the phone and called the police, so I was saved. But I don't remember the details of that. Then I had a dream that THAT was a dream, and I was all freaked out and told my parents about it.
I wish I remembered more. Anyway, slept literally all day, and now I need to study. Whoooo.

I'm exhausted and sore.
Today: School, shopping with Karley, and packing.
I hurt the fuck out of my neck today when instead of moving the couch, like something with a brain would do (pfft), I just craned my neck against the wall, and leaned over the couch to plug the lamp in. :| Still hurts. My feet hurt from standing all day, and my back hurts. It's 10:48pm, and I still need to shower.
I got some new pants, flats, and underwear today :D and I'm finished with homework so I'm about to hop in the shower and then into bed.
I need to start studying tomorrow. Er /:

Heroes

I don't think it's right that people are projecting Tiger's personal life onto his career. All the companies that dropped him are pretty pathetic. It's not as if people are going to stop buying Nike products because they support Tiger Woods. He's not the only person in the world to commit infidelity. It was wrong, but that's between him and his family, not the entire world and media. I'm really glad that he's starting golf again. Because that's what he is: golf. He's not your cheating husband, or your mister, and it's not fair that we are stalking him to watch him fail.
We, as a people, are pathetic. I try not to take part in hoping for people to fail. Like Brad and Angelina, no they are not splitting, and I will not believe it until I hear those words pour from his or her mouth. I'm HAPPY as anything for them, and I believe in them. They're a successful Hollywood couple, why can't we stand that? No, Jennifer Aniston didn't get extra beautiful to get her revenge on [current] bony Ang. What the hell? How do you people EVEN come up with that? Really? Ugh.
/rant.
I don't care to watch all that celebrity gossip, but my mum loves it and it's always on. /guilty/
I really need to do my homework so I can go to bed.
This weekend I need to:
